Random Favourites

Heya :) ♥

So instead of doing a normal beauty blog I thought I would do a random favourites blog, but not like an end of the month favourites as you can see it isn't the end of the month but a mid-month favourites blog.

Favourite Movie
So recently I have been watching more movies as summer has finally started but all my other friends are still at school so I have just been sitting around my house catching up on movies I have missed due to revision and having two little brothers that never want to watch what I want to watch even if it is one of their favourites (silly boys). So my favourite movie is HAIRSPRAY.

I feel like this movie is a real pick me up sort of movie and anytime I feel down or depressed I watch this movie and I have an instant simile on my face for the rest of the day. My favourite part of the whole film is the ending. I just fell like the ending was put together really well, that it wasn't to cheesy that it made you cringe but it also wasn't to predictable that you knew what would happen which I think is hard to find in alot of new movies.

Favourite T.V. Show
Currently I have been obsessing over BONDI RESCUE. I just really seem to enjoy it. It is like a documentary but a lot more interesting, I feel mean saying that but I do find some documentaries slightly boring and to factual, but I also like that it isn't predictable 'as you will never know what is going to happen on the busiest beach on the world' ( said in my voice-over voice). It is about a group of lifeguards that patrol Bondi Beach as it happens, and you get to see all the different scenarios that get thrown at them and how they deal with it and how they also have a laugh in between and enjoy it. Also some of the lifeguards are kinda hot. Teehee !

Favourite Ice-Cream Flavour
Last week I was in town and I can't remember what shop I walked into but it had a deal on Ben & Jerry's ice cream and I almost died. No exaggeration is needed here. My all time favourite Ben & Jerry's ice cream was on sale and I was not about to miss it. Now don't get me wrong I love all Ben & Jerry ice creams but every one must have a favourite, and mine just happens to be CHOCOLATE FUDGE BROWNIE, no doubt about it and I'm not ashamed to admit it when the sale was on I ate two big tubs of the heaven in one week an I'll tell you one thing I could not care about the calories that I ate when eating those two tubes. OH MY GOODNESS my mouth is watering now as I speak/write

Favourite Fizzy Drink/Soda
During the exams I thought I would go healthy and drink diet coke instead of regular coke as that that is my attempt of cutting down. And also now Coca-Cola are putting names on the coke so everyone wants to find their own name an guess what I did. After about a month of searching  and finding cousin's names and brother's names an names I din't know existed till recently I finally found my own name and I was over joyed, and because of all this searching I have become slightly addicted but am trying to control myself.

Favourite Food
I feel like this  whole blog is ever so slightly unhealthy but I can guarantee you that this favourite is a bit healthier. So because it is now summer, there are now more summer fruits on offer that are fresh and so good that I could live on summer fruits for the rest of my life. But when it comes to summer fruits I find them nicer in the summer as they haven't been imported from really far away but have been grown locally and are really fresh so I tend to eat a lot more fruit during summer as they taste nicer so my favourite food is STRAWBERRIES. They are just so sweet and tasty and bite-sized which is what I also love about summer fruits you can just sit and pick at the fruit.

So I hope this blog wasn't to long an rambly. An now that the exams are over I will be blogging a lot more over summer so if you have any requests of what I should blog about let me know in the comments below an I will try and do that for you.

Hope you all have a great day and I will talk to you later ♥

Revision Tips

Heya :) ♥

So I mentioned briefly in my last blog that I have been revising a lot recently for the exams that I have coming up, so i thought as one nice person to the next I would share some of my revision tips with you all in a hope that they will help someone.

Now it has taken me five years to finally get ways of revising that work so these techniques won't necessarily work for you all but it might help some one.

When I revising I cannot just read through the book and learn it I have to write it out in bright colours to make it more enjoyable to read and look at, if you can even make revising more enjoyable. When I write my notes I tend to use the Stabilo point 88 pens as they come in a variety of vibrant colours. Also when writing notes I will highlight the key words and phrases that I need to remember. The highlighters are relatively cheap compared to the pens, the highlighters came in a pack of 4 for £1 with the colours pink and orange (as you see in the picture) and also yellow and green. The pens where slightly pricer at £8.94 for a pack of 20.

Another technique I use when revising is mind maps or spider diagrams or what ever you want to call them, these are nicer to read and you can stick a few pages together or have a big piece of paper an make a huge on and stick it on your wall so you will always see it. With mind maps you could use pictures to describe what you are saying as most of you know the famous saying a picture paints a thousand words. I also use the Stabilo pens when making mind maps. Also drawing diagrams helps me as I would be able to picture them in my head during the exam alot easier than a huge block of text.

When ever I write notes i ten to keep them in note books so you are less likely to lose a page, and what always happens me is when I lose a page it is always a huge mark question on the exam so I learnt from my mistakes and have now kept all of my notes into note books and one note book for each subject. Also with note books you can go into any local stationary shop and pick up a notebook for no price they are that cheap and they don't need to be super expensive as your not planning to go around showing them off to all your friends like you would a new bag or pair of shoes.

So they are just a dew of the tips that I use when I'm revising for exams. I hope that some of these tips helped you and that everyone who is doing exams will do very well in them and if you aren't doing exams you're a lucky duck!
Speak to you all soon ♥

Update :) ♥

Heya :) ♥

So I'm really sorry I haven't been blogging a lot recently as I have been super busy with school, 'important' exams and trying not to stress out or have any panic attacks, so I haven't really have the opportunity to whip out the old laptop and get typing.

I thought for this blog I would just update you all on what is happening in my life over the past few weeks and the coming ones as well.

In the next few days I will be turning 16! FINALLY ! So I know to some of you this may not be a big deal (now here comes the start of the rant) but when your friends all have birthdays at the start of the year and will all be turning 17 in a few months I enjoy being the same age as them even if it is for a little bit. They will all be learning to drive soon and will be able to do things a whole year earlier than me which they remind me every time we see each other. But I'm just happy to be 16 soon. But unfortunately I was born at a good time when you are in primary school as all your friends aren't on holidays and in school it is the wind down to summer, but it isn't such a good time when you reach GCSE's and A-Levels as the mean people who organise the exams decide that my birthday would be a good time to plan the exams and it is normally the nicest week of the whole year and I'm stuck in side revising it just isn't fair.
 (Rant over)
Because of this and my amazingly good persuasion technique I convinced my parents to let me have a big celebration for my birthday. Now I know if you live in America this is normally a big event but over here in the UK it is normally the 18th or 21th birthdays that are the big days. So anyway I'm having lots of my friends round at my house and we are having a huge bouncy slide and a BBQ (if the weather holds up) and I can't wait.

As I said I have exams and I was thinking about sharing with you about the techniques that I use to help me revise, now I know that everyone revises differently as me and my brother have very different techniques, but I thought it may help some of you guys so it is worth a shot. I will write some of those type of blogs as I know I'm not the only one sitting exams.

Finally the last major thing that has been happening in my life is that we (my family) are thinking of getting a new dog as sadly our old dog Bob passed away last year after 16 wonderful years with us, so if any of you have any dog names I would be more than happy to hear them as we are having a bit of bother coming up with names that we all agree on, so any names to be left in the comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you :)

Hope you are all having a great day ♥

Music #2

Heyaaaaa

Hope you are all having a great day

So since my last music blog post I have been listening to a lot more music instead of just the same music again and again and again which for about 2 months I did when One Directions new album came out!!! (it is soooooo good). I'm a loyal Directioner.

So anyway here are some of the songs that I have been enjoying recently

Ollie Marland

This guy right here is a singer, that would be why he is in my music blog but anyway, I stumbled across him on twitter first i think and then looked him up on youtube and discovered how amazingly talented he was, so I watched a few more of his videos and thought that he was good enough to go into this blog. He is a British singer and I think he is 18 (don't quote me on that). This is one of my favourite songs that he covers and I personally love it.

Pink ft. Nate Ruess - Just Give Me A Reason

So this is a song I have been currently obsessing over with my little 10 year old brother, we actually stand in our kitchen and sing this song at the top of our voices like we are professional singers and it is very funny. But this song is so catchy and different to her normal stuff. Don't you agree? I like it because even though it is kind of a sad song the music to it isn't slow and depressing it is quite fast which I think makes it so much better.

Bruno Mars - When I Was Your Man

This song is such a wonderful song and it reminds me to take every opportunity you get to do something amazing and worth while. I love all of Bruno Mars's (maybe not correct punctuation there but awell), I think all his songs are amazing and without going all deep and meaning full, because then we would be here forever, his lyrics are really fanatstic and he gets a message across well in a song which makes me love him even more. This song is a love or hate thing, but I have found a very small group of people that don't like it and I straight up told them they were wrong (WHOOPS) but thankfully they took it as a joke.

I hope you all enjoy these videos that I have reccommended
And I will speak to you all very soon Have a great day ♥

Quote of the Day #3

This is a quote that I wish I lived my life by. Personally I am the sort of person who would care a lot about what people are saying about me and I wish I didn't but unfortunately I do. If I'm ever getting dressed to go out anywhere constantly racing through my mind will be
- 'what are people going to think',
- 'what will other people be wearing' ,
- 'will people be staring at me',
- 'will anyone judge'
- 'who will they tell'
Just stupid things like that and a lot of the time no one will ever say anything but I will be thinking that they do which makes me really insecure. It has gotten so bad that I can't leave the house without make-up on or else I will think people will be judging me becasue of my acne or the way my hair is or anything like that.
I'm going to try and remember this quote when ever I start getting insecure and hopefully it will help me be less anxious and not care what others think
I hope this can help any of you that feel the way that I feel and we can get over it together
hope you all have a great day ♥

Revision Snacks

Recently I have been revising for my GCSE's so I have been eating alot more snacks to get me through my exams such as

  • Sensations crisps especially roasted chicken & Thyme (they are the best)
  • Coca-cola (diet or zero as I'm trying to be healthy #fail)
  • Big bags of GIANT chocolate buttons
  • lucozade pink lemonade which has to be the best flavoured drink ever created in the history of drinks. Who agrees?
  • Maoam's MaoMix (the best because you get a selection of them and they are amazing)
  • Haribo's jelly babies
  • and HOT CHOCOLATE. Recently I have become obsessed with hot chocolate as I don't like any other hot drinks or anything coffee based except a caramel frappuccino but it isn't a hot drink. I have gone through 3 tubes of it and am half way through the 4th. I don't know if it is overly healthy for me but I don't care it is the only thing that is getting me through these exams.
All of these foods are helping me get through my exams and I am currently holding back on starting a diet but that can be organised after the exams can't it?
If any of you have a favourite food that you like to wat when revising let me know and I will try them out.
Hope you are all having a great day and I will speak to you soon ♥

Review | Revlon Lip Butter

Recently I went out on a whim and bought the new Revlon lip butter in Peach Parfait. I needed a neutral colour and had be recommended this one by a friend, I already have a few but they would be slightly brighter than this one.

I liked this colour as it gave my lips a shimmer instead of colour and it has left my lips feeling incredibly nourished and smooth.
This past month the revlon lip butter has been my staple lip colour as I haven't been out much due to school and revising. I also like it because it isn't bright you are able to get away with it in school, well my school anyway (but shhh don't tell anyone).
With the range of lip butter there is a variety of colours which are all very well pigmented just like a lipstick.
The packaging is really cute and I like the diamond effect on the front and back, all the names are candy related which i think is really sweet (get it) and makes me feel happy when i read it.

If you have any colours that you would like to recommend me just leave them in the comment section below and I will gladly readthem and maybe try them out, also if you have any products that you would like to see reviewed tell me about them and I will see what I can do.

hope you all have a great day and will hope to speak to you soon ♥

Quote Of The Day #3

This is a quote that I would like to live my life by but it doesn't always go to plan. If I am ever asked to do something I will always think of this quotes and say yes but then it may be later in the day or later in the week, when I start to over think what I said yes to and chicken out and say I can't do it. This has lead to me upsetting or hurting people but i don't mean to do it, I just over think about things and then freak myself out and have a panic attack.

The last time this happened to me I was sitting in my geography class and all of a sudden I started panicing (this was the worst panic attack I have ever had and it freaked the life out of me), at the time I didn't know why I was panic I wasn't in a small space, nothing bad was happening and it was just like any normal day. My panic attack lasted around 20 minutes, but every time I tried to think why I paniced I statred to freak out and then I realised it ws because I was asked to go somewhere with a friend, (it was some where i had never been before and I knew no one), I initially said "Yeah, sure why not", but then i started to over think and cowardly backed out, this left me feeling really bad and wish I had never said yes. And till this day I still think it was the guilt that built up inside me that caused it.

Sorry for the big long story but that is the reason I like this quote I would just like to be able to stick it out until the end and be able to say it.

If you have any quotes that you try to live your life by then let me know in the comments below I would love to read them
hope you are all having a great easter and I will speak to you soon ♥

Music #1

Heya

Today i thought i would do a blog post about the music that i have been listening to recently.
Currently I have been listening to lots of different artists in the music world and thought that it might be nice to share a few of them with you guys.

1. 5 Seconds Of Summer
This band is a group of four Australian guys called Luke, Micheal, Ashton and callum. They write and sing their own songs and also sing covers. I saw them live a few weeks ago as they are currently on tour with One Direction and immediately fell in love with them and their music. They are all very talented (and hot) guys and my favourite song is called Heartbreak Girl.I am pretty sure that i have driven my litllte brothers mad as i have been palying their songs all throughout the house. I will advise you all to go and listen to their music and to subscribe to their Youtube channel.

2. Hot Chelle Rae
I was introduced to this group a few weeks ago by one of my friends and found their music amazing and very catchy. I like this group because i can never get enough of their songs and can never play one of their songs just once and it is constantly on repeat.

3. Christina Grimmie
I first heard of her when one of my friends tweeted about her and left a link to her youtube. I love all her videos and my favourite is currently the cover of stay by rihanna. I think she is a really talented (and pretty) singer and songwriter.

If you have any songs or artist that you think I will like don't be afraid to leave them in the comments below and I will look into them.

hope you are having a great week and will talk to you later ♥

Reveiw | Nivea Lip Butter

Nivea lip butter in Raspberry rose £1.49
One day whilst I was in town with my friend Veronica we quickly popped into superdrug for a look around and I picked up the nivea lip butter as I was in desperate need of a new lip butter. when i was there, there was a choice of two smells/flavours (I don't really know what to can it), it was between the caramel cream and the raspberry rose. I ended up picking the raspberry rose because as soon as I smelt it I immediately fell in love. I personally think it smells of the strawberry starburst but my friends have said differently.
I love the consicentcy of the balm as it is thick and lasts a long time so you don't have to keep reappling it every two minutes (which drives me mad). i have heard alot of people saying that it turns you lips pale but i think that only happens if you use to much because it hasn't done that to me.
I have found since I started using it that my lips won't become as raw and chapped and keeps then nourished for longer. I would recommend this product to anyone just for the smell, but it also does wonders for your lips.

Quote of the Day #2

Today's quote isn't one that I have said a lot but is one that has been said to me in abundance. Especially with my exams coming up this summer. It is one of my Dad's favourite quote and any time I ever hear anyone say it, it reminds me of him.

Review | Heathcote & Ivory Merry Berry Hand Cream

This is my review on the Heathcote & Ivory Merry Berry Hand Cream

'Merry Berry encompasses all that is good for the festive season with top notes of cranberry and raspberry cushioned on a cherry and amber base. This specially formed hand cream contains Shea Butter to moisturise and protect the hands and Panthenol to strengthen nails.'

I was given this hand cream for Christmas by my best friend Rebekah, as she knows that i love spiced scented product. The hand cream has a thick luxurious consistency and soaks into your hands super fast, so it doesn't leave your hands feeling sticky for ages (no one want that. do they?)

It says on the back that it has panthenol to strengthen nails, which i can totally agree with. i don't eat many foods with calcium in the so my nails are normally really weak and break easily but since using this hand cream they have become a lot stronger and due to that they are now longer.

I don't know where she got it from but if I can't remember correctly it was around £3-5 for 100ml, so it is quite inexpensive. I would recommend it to everyone, and if anyone has tried it let me know what you thought of it.

Hope you all have a great week ♥

Quote of the Day #1

Recently in my school you get a lot of people trying to be so different that they end up all being the same.
But the other day whilst putting of my revision i stumbled across a quote that I thought was perfect, and everyone should remember it. It is my wallpaper on my phone and laptop and it always reminds me to be my self and not care what anyone else thinks.

2013 Wishlist #4

Make up

This is the last wishlist of the set and I personally think I have saved the best till last. This one is going to be about MAKE UP !!!! I am going to limit this wishlist to a max of 5 products. These 5 products are going to be products that I have been wanting for a while or ones that have been recommended to me. Make up is something that I am obsessed with but don't seem to have much of because in the past year I have kinda stuck to the same products and just repurchased them but this year I am going to try and venture out into doing more and experimenting more with it. This will hopefully lead me on to discovering new products that I really love and new brands as well. In this wishlist I am going to be explaining why I want these products and what has influenced me to buy them. So this blog might be a little longer than others. so make sure you are sitting down comfortably (or standing up which ever floats your boat as long as you are comfortable) and enjoy.

So the first product is the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation.

My reasoning for want this foundation is that it is light on your skin and me having very oily and acne prone skin this is something that immediately grabs my attention. I have seen many reviews of this product from people who live over in America and it seems to last the length of the day and doesn't make your skin oily, also by their reviews it does what it says on the label, it is supposedly very light on your skin and doesn't make it look 'cakey'. Unfortunately this product is yet to come out in the UK, so for this product I might have to wait a little while.

My next product is the Urban Decay Naked Palette.

This palette is one I have wanted for a very long time but I just haven't got around to buying it. unfortunately it is slightly out of my price range at the moment (and with the way my saving skills are going it could be for a little while longer). I prefer this palette than the Naked 2 palette because this has more of the colours that I would use on a daily basis in it than the other one does. I love this palette because of the texture and quality of the product and also the packaging it comes in.

Next up is Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie and Red Velvet
Red Velvet

Raspberry Pie

I want theses colours as this is me trying to venture out into brighter and more adventurous things. I have a Revlon lip butter in strawberry shortcake so I know that these products are very good and have a nice texture and have good colour pigmentation. So this is why i want this brand as it is one that i know and have used other products from this line.

next is Benefits They're Real Mascara

I want this mascara because i have heard amazing reviews from lots of different people and also my friend has it and i instantly fell in love with it. The only down side I have about this mascara is that the wand is plastic personally I prefer if the wand is a brush (but that is personal preference). But if i can manage to look past that this must mean that the product is amazing.

Finally my last product is Nars Orgasm Blush

This is a product that I have been wanting for a while and probably out of all of these products the one i need the most. This product is one that I haven't heard a bad review of. Everyone loves it so I think I shall see what the fuss is all about.

So this is the last wishlist for the mean time I might do one later on in the year but who knows. If you have any products that you think I should add to this list let me know in the comments below and I will be sure to check them out.

Hope you all have a great week ♥

2013 Wishlist #3

Hair care

Previously I have talked to you about the nail and skincare products that I would like to buy this year, to try them out and review them. This time will be no different. today i would like to tell you about the hair products that i would like to purchase throughout the course of this up coming year.
Last summer I got the under-layer of my hair dip dyed pink, to do this I got part of my hair bleached, this has left my hair damaged and with enough split ends to last me a lifetime. So this year I have decided that I am going to get it into a healthier condition. It doesn’t mean that I am going to be buying lots of new products just taking more care of it. This wish list won’t be very big but these are just a few essentials that I have run out of.

Tresemme - Keratin heat protectant

John Fredia - Sheer blonde colour renew shampoo and conditioner

Toni&Guy - Sea Salt Spray

Tigi S Factor - Smoothing shampoo and conditioner

Tangle teezer (pink)

Macadamia oil - Deep Repair Mask

These are some of the products that I would like to buy during this year and they will hopefully put my hair into a better condition and make it look shinier and healthier, instead of a dull mop that sits on the top of my head. If you have any products that you would like me to try out them do let me know in the comments below.

Hope you have a great week and I will talk to you soon ♥

2013 wishlist #2

Skin care

Last time I talked about nails so this time it is skin care. I have very oily and acne prone skin, so it is difficult to find products that don’t break me out or make me have a rash. Over the years I have tried many different face washes, face creams, different face wipes … the lot! And this year will be no exception. Before Christmas I tried a new face wash and it really didn't work and broke me out really badly, so now I have to find a new face wash and soon (or my acne will come back fighting).
Normally at Christmas I would get a lot of make-up, nail varnish and hair care from different friends but skin care is never really included because it is hard to get one that works. I would say that last year I went through 6 different brands of skin care (there went a lot of money). So this year I have made an effort to look into different skin care products and see what kind of reviews they got.
I have narrowed my wish list down to 5 (just about)

first we have benefit's foaming clean face wash

Neutrogena's oil-free acne wash

simple's oil balancing cleansing wipes

Bioderma Créaline H2O

finally Liz earl cleanse and polish

I hope that some of these products will help clear my skin up and I hope I get round to investing in some of them. If you have any other products that you think might be help full don’t be shy to leave them in the comments below as it would help.

I hope that you all have a great end of week ♥

2013 wishlist #1

Nails

Instead of doing a blog every Sunday or Friday (as I hadn't quite worked out which one suited me best) I have decided just to do one whenever I have time.
So today’s blog is going to be on what I would like to buy /invest in this year so I am going to split it up into four sections: nails, make-up, skin care and hair care. Today I am going to do nails.
If you don’t know I am a bit of a nail-aholic, I am obsessed with nail varnishes and change my mind nearly every other day on what colour I want them, because I do this a lot it means that I run out of nail varnish very quickly and recently I haven’t got round to reinvesting in them. This can be because I just don’t have time to go out and purchase them from shops or that I don’t have enough money to repurchase them (which is normally the case). So I am going to make a list of the ones that I really want and not just ones that I think I might where once.

So here is a list of some that I want to buy.

Essie - Ballet Slippers                       Zoya - Pippa

Models Own - Orange Sorbet

O.P.I - As Mad As A Hatter

Black and white nail art pens (doesn't bother me what brand)

These are the main nail varnishes that I want this year if you can think of any that I might like or need to add to my collection be sure to leave them in the comments below.

I hope you all have a great week  ♥
