Revision Tips

Heya :) ♥

So I mentioned briefly in my last blog that I have been revising a lot recently for the exams that I have coming up, so i thought as one nice person to the next I would share some of my revision tips with you all in a hope that they will help someone.

Now it has taken me five years to finally get ways of revising that work so these techniques won't necessarily work for you all but it might help some one.

When I revising I cannot just read through the book and learn it I have to write it out in bright colours to make it more enjoyable to read and look at, if you can even make revising more enjoyable. When I write my notes I tend to use the Stabilo point 88 pens as they come in a variety of vibrant colours. Also when writing notes I will highlight the key words and phrases that I need to remember. The highlighters are relatively cheap compared to the pens, the highlighters came in a pack of 4 for £1 with the colours pink and orange (as you see in the picture) and also yellow and green. The pens where slightly pricer at £8.94 for a pack of 20.

Another technique I use when revising is mind maps or spider diagrams or what ever you want to call them, these are nicer to read and you can stick a few pages together or have a big piece of paper an make a huge on and stick it on your wall so you will always see it. With mind maps you could use pictures to describe what you are saying as most of you know the famous saying a picture paints a thousand words. I also use the Stabilo pens when making mind maps. Also drawing diagrams helps me as I would be able to picture them in my head during the exam alot easier than a huge block of text.

When ever I write notes i ten to keep them in note books so you are less likely to lose a page, and what always happens me is when I lose a page it is always a huge mark question on the exam so I learnt from my mistakes and have now kept all of my notes into note books and one note book for each subject. Also with note books you can go into any local stationary shop and pick up a notebook for no price they are that cheap and they don't need to be super expensive as your not planning to go around showing them off to all your friends like you would a new bag or pair of shoes.

So they are just a dew of the tips that I use when I'm revising for exams. I hope that some of these tips helped you and that everyone who is doing exams will do very well in them and if you aren't doing exams you're a lucky duck!
Speak to you all soon ♥

Update :) ♥

Heya :) ♥

So I'm really sorry I haven't been blogging a lot recently as I have been super busy with school, 'important' exams and trying not to stress out or have any panic attacks, so I haven't really have the opportunity to whip out the old laptop and get typing.

I thought for this blog I would just update you all on what is happening in my life over the past few weeks and the coming ones as well.

In the next few days I will be turning 16! FINALLY ! So I know to some of you this may not be a big deal (now here comes the start of the rant) but when your friends all have birthdays at the start of the year and will all be turning 17 in a few months I enjoy being the same age as them even if it is for a little bit. They will all be learning to drive soon and will be able to do things a whole year earlier than me which they remind me every time we see each other. But I'm just happy to be 16 soon. But unfortunately I was born at a good time when you are in primary school as all your friends aren't on holidays and in school it is the wind down to summer, but it isn't such a good time when you reach GCSE's and A-Levels as the mean people who organise the exams decide that my birthday would be a good time to plan the exams and it is normally the nicest week of the whole year and I'm stuck in side revising it just isn't fair.
 (Rant over)
Because of this and my amazingly good persuasion technique I convinced my parents to let me have a big celebration for my birthday. Now I know if you live in America this is normally a big event but over here in the UK it is normally the 18th or 21th birthdays that are the big days. So anyway I'm having lots of my friends round at my house and we are having a huge bouncy slide and a BBQ (if the weather holds up) and I can't wait.

As I said I have exams and I was thinking about sharing with you about the techniques that I use to help me revise, now I know that everyone revises differently as me and my brother have very different techniques, but I thought it may help some of you guys so it is worth a shot. I will write some of those type of blogs as I know I'm not the only one sitting exams.

Finally the last major thing that has been happening in my life is that we (my family) are thinking of getting a new dog as sadly our old dog Bob passed away last year after 16 wonderful years with us, so if any of you have any dog names I would be more than happy to hear them as we are having a bit of bother coming up with names that we all agree on, so any names to be left in the comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you :)

Hope you are all having a great day ♥
